THREE CARS OF MOTORSPORT ITALY AT THE STARTING LINE OF EKO ACROPOLIS RALLY OF GREECE.

2018 FIA EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP FOR DRIVERS

Intensive race for the italian team. It’ll run the third event of the European Rally Championship in Greece. The rally is held on very dusty, rough and rocky mountain roads around Athens.

Three Skoda Fabia R5 of Motorsport Italy will run the Eko Acropolis Rally of Greece. The race will start on friday 2018-05-31. These the three crews of the italian team, managed by driver and rally organizer Max Rendina: with the 10 number, the Greek driver George Philippedes and the british
co-driver Allan Harryman; with the 14 number the brazilian crew Paulo Nobre and Gabriel Morales and with the 30 number, the totally Greek crew created by Efthimios Halkias and Leonidas Mahaeras. All the crews are really a lot confident. They know to be at the wheel with a top car in
a very professional team. One year ago George Philippedes was on race with compatriot Leonidas Mahaeras in a Motorsport Italy’s Skoda Fabia R5 too; when he was on a big fight for the third position the Greek driver went off and were forced to retire. He wants to be too in the 2018 edition protagonist. The Brazilian driver Paulo Nobre returns to Greece after six years; last time was in 2012 season; his target is to finish the race with a good result. He wont keep experience too, at the wheel of a 4×4 car because in the past he was running only two time with this kind of car on gravel.

Last but not least, ther’s Halkias. He has Leonidas Mahaeras like co-driver; for the Greek driver is a lifelong dream: to run the Eko Acropolis Rally by a top car. His target is only enjoy. He don’t think to take care about the top fight. Motorsport Italy did three test days for drivers Nobre e Halkias. The session had placed around the mountains north of Lamia.
The first edition of the Acropolis Rally took placed in the 1951 and for a long time the event was World Rally Championship part. The late Colin McRae won the major number of times. He was firts for five times. Three times victorius have been Sébastien Loeb, Carlos Sainz, Walter Rohrl and the italian Miki Biasion.
Last year too the rally was part of the European Rally Championship and the winner was Kajetanovic-Baran crew.
