🇬🇧 No doubt, after the WRC, the European Rally Championship is the international series dedicated to the most important road racing in the great world universe. Thus, it can only be a reason of pride that a stage in the Continental series arrives in Italy, precisely in Rome, where July 20 takes the sixth edition of the Rally Roma Capital. The European Rally Championship was established for the first time in 1953 and since then has always been awarded: 65 editions that during the seasons have often seen the Ital- ians on the shields.
Formidable, in this regard, the sequence of recent successes – four – between 2008 and 2011, when Luca Rossetti won three times, with in the midst of the victory of Giandomenico Basso. In the past, other Italian riders have established themselves in the European Championship, one of all, in 1983, Miki Biasion: the italian pilot would then succeed in crowning his dream in 1988, so it is true that this year we remember the thirty years from the first of two World Championships that won.
In short, the European Rally championship that stops in Rome is rooted in a glorious past that Italians at the start of the 2018 edition will certainly want revive, with a view to a comparison with those who are currently playing the continental title. In the head there is the Portuguese Bruno Magalhaes with 98 points, followed at 15 lengths by the Russian Alexey Lukyanuk.
Third is the Hungarian Norbert Herczig at odds 52 points. Since the rally of Rome Capital is also valid as event of the Italian Rally Championship, in Rome will be at the start all the best Italian rallyists, to add show to the race. It will be nice to see the comparison between the Italian and foreign rally school.
