Three Golf Racing Cars Helped FAW-VW Win CRC Wuyi Leg.

On November 25rd, CRC sixth leg – Wuyi Leg was concluded and FAW-VW team won the Manufacturers Cup, Federation Cup, National Four-Wheel Drive Group Champion and other awards. Atkinson became the overall winner while Chen De’an led the domestic driver standings.

FAW-VW Sagitar Champion Team won S3 category championship again after the Longyou Leg.

Through the accumulation of the game, drivers and the technical team were very confident with seventh generation Golf in the final completion of Jixi.
On November 25rd, 2015 China Rally Championship (CRC) sixth leg – Wuyi Leg was concluded and FAW-VW continued with its successes in Longyou Leg and won the Manufacturers Cup, Federation Cup, National Four-Wheel Drive Group Championship and other awards. Atkinson still led the contestants and became the overall winner. Chen De’an and Li Guojing’s performances were remarkable and the former ranked third among domestic pilots and continued to lead the domestic driver standings, making him a leading contestant to take the domestic championship.

Meanwhile, FAW –VW’s Sagitar Champion Team, with the strong and stable performance of the new Sagitar, once again achieved good results. Wang Tao, correspondent from Autohome and Guo Feng, his co-driver drove the new Sagitar racing car and won the S3 category championship.

Wuyi Leg was also the final competition of CRC 2014 and FAW-VW’s two seventh generation vehicles attended the competition, they gained the overall championship and took the title of yearly championship, setting new records. This year, the three seventh-generation Golf chariots lineup helped FAW-VW team to continue with the arena legend.

Different from the gravel track of Longyou Leg, Wuyi Leg was all cement roads except for super track, which was gravel road. However, the relatively good road surface did not necessarily mean easier competition in Wuyi. In fact, the ups and downs and turns tested drivers’ skills and coordination between drivers and co-drivers. At the same time, the changeable weather and frequent rains also affected the process of the game. On the other hand, competition between drivers had become even more intense as the competition was drawing to a close, which was why match-ups among skilled racers were staged in the Wuyi Leg.

However, after two races of last year and this year’s five races, FAW-VW’s understanding and control of the seventh generation golf had been improved. Coupled with the experiences gained from last year’s Wuyi Leg, FAW-VW’s overall performance was stable and calm. The trophy again proved the strong performance of the seventh generation Golf racing cars and FAW-VW’s competitiveness. Atkinson said after game: “The race went very smoothly this leg, and so was the competition state. With excellent racing cars, outstanding technical team, the championship is no big surprise.”

The excellent technical team provided a solid backing to the championship. The perfect coordination between FAW-VW’s local technical team and Prodrive from the UK never neglected any detail to ensure best state of racing cars. Through the accumulation of the game, drivers or the technical team were both confident with the seventh Golf chariots in the final competition of Jixi.
